Sept. 29, 2018, Dr. Zhang came to Yangzhou Technical Vocational College, China and gave a lecture entitled “U.S. Vocational Education, MOOCs, and Learning Platform”. More than 70 people, including all middle-level officials, director of teaching and research department, administrative staffs, teaching secretary, students etc., listened to the lecture.
Dr. Zhang explained his teaching experience in vocational education in the United States, using MOOCs and other Learning Management Systems (LMS). He demonstrated how IT technology, including networking, cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence, support modern education. Dr. Zhang’s in-depth explanations have broadened the knowledge for the participants and broadened their horizons, providing new ideas, tools and ways for school administrators.

On Sept. 28, 2008, Dr. Zhang visited Humanities and Social Sciences Department, School of Education Science, Yangzhou University. Dr. Zhang gave a lecture on Big Data and Modern Education. His lecture covered MOOCs technology and other Learning Management System. He pointed out that Cloud Computing and big data are important technical support of modern education.
On September 26th, 2018, Dr. Peter Zhang was joined invited by the School of Economics and Management and the Development, the Committee Office of Nanjing University of Agriculture. Dr. Zhang gave a lecture in the Lecture Hall on the third floor of Jinling Research Institute. The lecture is on “The Status Quo of US Blockchain Technology Development and Its Application in Food Safety”. More than 150 teachers and students from the School of Economics, Finance, Information Technology, and Food Science and Technology attended the lecture. Professor Zhang Hongsheng, Director of the Development Committee Office, presided over the report.
Dr. Zhang first introduced the concept of blockchain technology, such as history of bitcoin, distributed ledger, P2P transmission, encryption algorithm, and consensus mechanism. Dr. Zhang pointed out that Blockchain is a good medicine and weapon to solve the crisis of trust. Subsequently, he analyzed the relationship between blockchain and cloud computing, big data, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence. He also discussed the limitations of blockchain technology, the future application scenarios of blockchain, including digital currency and intellectual property protection, the Internet and supply chain and decentralized major industries that may be subverted.
Finally, Dr. Zhang briefly introduced the development status of the US blockchain and the cases of the blockchain. The United States is the leader in the blockchain industry. The “blockchain beliefs” have risen to the US national strategy. It is expected that by 2021, the US blockchain market will grow at a CAGR of 61.5%. Although China lagged behind in terms of research and project financing and technology, but the gap is narrowing. Dr. Zhang believes that blockchain has a wide employment prospect and a large market demand both in China and United States. He encourages teachers and students to actively participate in the research of blockchain and improve the technical level of blockchain in China.
The academic feast brought by Professor Zhang was warmly welcomed by the teachers and students of the school. The venue was packed. After the lecture, Dr. Zhang conducted in-depth discussions with the teachers and students on the blockchain technology in the priority areas of China’s food safety.
After the talk, Professor Chen Wei, Executive Vice President of the New Rural Development Research Institute, and Professor Xu Huanliang, Associate Dean of the School of Information Technology, exchanged ideas with Dr. Zhang, including the positioning of the blockchain industrial technology research institute to be established. Young teachers went to the doctoral laboratory of Dr. Zhang, and introduced the topic of the blockchain technology network course of Dr. Zhang’s research team.
On Sept. 25, 2018, Prof. Peter Zhang and Prof. Yonggang Li visited Qingdao University of Technology, China. The professors gave talked and discussed cooperation between the universities between the United States and China.

On the afternoon of September 20th, Prof. Zhang from California State University was invited to the School of Electronics and Information Engineering of Anhui University of Architecture, China to hold an academic lecture entitled “The Status and Trend of Blockchain Development”. About 200 teachers and graduate students of the School of Telecommunications participated attend the lecture.
Professor Zhang gave an in-depth introduction to the concept and types of blockchains, the relationship between blockchains and related technologies, the limitations of blockchains, development trends, and the deployment and practical methods of blockchains. The application of blockchains is described by way of examples and cases. The lecture was in-depth yet introductory, with pictures and texts. The teachers and students were benefit a lot from the lecture.

September 17, 2018, at the invitation of the International Exchange and Cooperation Division, Professor Zhang of the University of California, USA, visited Anhui University of Science and Technology and gave an academic lecture in the School of Mathematics and Big Data. Dr. Zhang give an academic talk entitled “Digital Divide and Social Demographics: A Vertical Quantitative Study of Internet Users in the United States.” Dr. Fang Xianwen, Dean of the School of Mathematics and Big Data, presided over the lecture. Li Dequan, the vice president of the business. About 200 teachers and students from the college listened to the lecture.
On the morning of September 17, in the conference room on the second floor of the college, Professor Zhang and more than 20 professional teachers in the department of leadership, statistics, and information and computational science conducted a cordial discussion on how to cooperate with cloud computing and big data, to carry on relevant scientific research projects, the teaching and training of relevant courses and mentoring on the graduate students. Professor Zhang also visited the Mathematics and Big Data Labs in the department and made valuable suggestions for the college’s data science and big data technology majors and applied statistics majors.
On the afternoon, Prof. Zhang visited the Electric Engineering Department and gave a lecture on Blockchain technology. He also discussed the potential exchange program between the two universities. He mentored several graduated students on their thesis and dissertation.
I am an adjunct professor at the California State University, both Fullerton and Long Beach Campus, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in computer sciences and engineering during 2014-2019. The courses taught were computer ethics, software specification, data structure, cloud computing, and big data.

On 2017年12月1日, Dr. Zhang Hua gave a lecture on Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the University of Southern California.
Dr. Zhang explain why artificial intelligence (AI) is popular, the types of artificial intelligence, and the knowledge needed for students to enter the artificial intelligence industry. Dr. Zhang also compared and contrasted AI between the United States and China. He pointed out that although China is developing fast and making good progress in AI, especially in the application of artificial intelligence in real world due to the rich data sources, the United States is leading AI at the fundamentals, algorism, platform, analysis and visual technology. He explained that the enthusiasm of artificial intelligence is inseparable from the development of big data, as well as the enhancement of computing power and algorithms.
Dr. Zhang is a strategic partner of Microsoft and Amazon Cloud Computing and Big Data, and an adjunct professor at California State University. He has been active in the IT industry in Southern California for many years, especially in the areas of cloud computing and big data. Dr. Zhang has extensive experience in technical guidance, project management, and IT training.
